| Job description: | We are looking for a Head Chef for our small country hotel located just outside Perth. All the usual duties are expected from the Head Chef. The hotel was recently taken over by the current owners, one of whom is a chef. He is very understanding of the kitchen’s needs and is highly supportive of the chefs. The owners are investing heavily in the hotel, including the restaurant and bar this winter, and have already started upgrading the kitchen. Our kitchen now features a 10-grid Rational oven, Thermomix, KitchenAid mixer, a range of new fridges and freezers, a blast chiller, a 6-burner stovetop, Lincat fryers, quality crockery, a double-tier heated pass, and all the standard equipment. We offer a small, seasonally changing menu with specials, using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. Our focus is on quality without overcomplicating dishes—think good-quality gastro pub with all the classic Scottish favorites. The Head Chef will work closely with the owners, have the opportunity to stay at the hotel, and will be supported in driving the business forward. This position could potentially suit a strong, ambitious sous chef, as the owners are committed to supporting the right candidate, or an experienced Head Chef ready to take the reins. Pay is weekly, plus tips. |
